Earth Wisdom is a Community Interest Company offering accessible counselling, ecotherapy and nature-based community support across Gloucestershire.

Our work is made possible by people who believe that emotional support should be compassionate, inclusive and available to those who may otherwise struggle to access it.

There are many ways to become involved. You may be a counsellor, student, volunteer, community member or someone with practical, creative or organisational skills to share.

You do not need to be a therapist to contribute.

Volunteering With Earth Wisdom
Volunteers can support Earth Wisdom in a variety of ways, depending on their interests, experience and availability.
 

Opportunities may include:​

• Helping to prepare for groups, events and community activities.

• Supporting communications, newsletters, social media or Canva.

• Assisting with research, evaluation and impact reporting.

• Helping with resources, displays and self-care projects.

• Supporting practical or administrative projects.

• Helping us connect with local communities and organisations sharing a particular skill that could strengthen our work.

Some opportunities are regular, while others may involve helping with a specific event or short-term project.

We will always aim to find a role that is meaningful, manageable and suited to the person volunteering.

Counselling Placements
We also offer placement opportunities for student counsellors who are drawn to accessible, community-based and nature-informed practice.

Placements may include experience of:

 

• Reduced-cost counselling.

• Working within a Community Interest Company.

• Outcome monitoring and reflective practice.

• Nature-based and ecotherapy approaches.

• Contributing to the wider life of the organisation.

Placement availability will depend on current capacity and the requirements of the student’s training provider.

Qualified Counsellors and Facilitators

From time to time, we welcome expressions of interest from qualified counsellors, ecotherapists and group facilitators who share our values.

Earth Wisdom is more than a room from which to see clients. We are building a collaborative organisation, and we particularly welcome people who are interested in contributing to the wider development of our services.

This might include group facilitation, community partnerships, research and impact, communications, events or the development of new nature-based projects.

• References or confirmation of volunteering, where appropriate.

All volunteers receive an induction relevant to their role and will have a named person they can contact for support.

Roles involving contact with clients or vulnerable people may require references, safeguarding checks or a DBS check.
