Health in Nature
Health in Nature - 90mins
Health in Nature is a small, ecotherapy group offering a gentle introduction to nature-based mental health support.
Each session is a stand-alone experience, giving you the opportunity to slow down, spend time outdoors and discover how connecting with nature can support positive mental health. Guided by one of our trained therapists, the group combines gentle walking, mindful observation and reflective conversation in a calm, welcoming environment.
There is no expectation to speak or share personal experiences unless you wish to. Some people come simply to enjoy being outdoors, others to take a break from the demands of everyday life, and many arrive curious about how nature can support their mental health. You are welcome to participate in whatever feels comfortable for you.
Our groups are intentionally kept small, creating a safe and supportive space where everyone can take part at their own pace.
Health in Nature sessions can be attended individually, with no commitment to future sessions.
However, many people choose to return or continue into the next stage of our Ecotherapy Pathway if they would like to explore nature-based mental health support in greater depth.
As places are limited, advance booking is required, and sessions will run subject to sufficient bookings.
What Participants Told Us
We are committed to listening to the people who attend our sessions and using their feedback to continually develop and improve our services.
Feedback from our initial Health in Nature pilot sessions found that:
-
100% of participants felt welcomed and able to participate in a way that worked for them.
-
The vast majority reported feeling more connected to nature following the session.
-
Participants described the experience as calming, inspiring, thought-provoking, enjoyable and eye-opening.
-
Many shared that they left with a new perspective on both nature and their own wellbeing.
One participant reflected:
"It was a very interesting walk and talk and I will look at nature differently now. Interesting and eye opening."
Another simply shared:
"Really enjoyed. A different perspective."
Participant feedback has also helped us refine the programme by providing clearer information before sessions and continuing to develop our seasonal activities.

Bring Health in Nature to Your Community
Health in Nature has been designed to be delivered within local communities, making nature-based mental health support more accessible to the people who need it most.
If you're a GP surgery, community organisation, school, workplace or local community group and think your community could benefit from a Health in Nature programme, we'd love to hear from you.
We work collaboratively with organisations across Gloucestershire to develop ecotherapy sessions that promote positive mental health, strengthen community connection and encourage people to experience the wellbeing benefits of nature.
Whether you're interested in exploring a pilot programme or developing a longer-term partnership, we'd be delighted to discuss how Health in Nature could support your community.
Complete our partnership enquiry form below, and a member of our team will be in touch to discuss your ideas.
