Nature as a Resource for Mental Health

Nature as a Resource for Mental Health

Nature as a Resource for Mental Health - 3 x 90mins sessions

Nature as a Resource for Mental Health is a small, ecotherapy group for those who would like to deepen their understanding of the relationship between nature and positive mental health.

Building on Health in Nature, this three-session programme combines shared learning, time outdoors and gentle reflection to explore the growing evidence for nature connection and how our relationship with the natural world can support resilience, mental health and a greater sense of belonging.

Our programme is informed by contemporary ecotherapy research and delivered through person-centred, trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming practice. We recognise that everyone experiences both nature and mental health differently, and we strive to create a safe, inclusive and compassionate environment where each person can participate in ways that feel right for them.

Meeting with the same group over three sessions allows trust, confidence and connection to develop naturally over time, creating opportunities for shared learning, therapeutic reflection and a deeper relationship with both yourself, others and the natural world.

There is no expectation to share personal experiences unless you choose to. Our groups are intentionally kept small, creating a supportive space where everyone is encouraged to participate at their own pace.

Building on the foundations introduced in Health in Nature, this programme represents the next stage of our Ecotherapy Pathway, deepening your understanding of the relationship between yourself, others and the natural world through shared learning, reflection and therapeutic group experience.

Bring Nature as a Resource for Mental Health to Your Community

Nature as a Resource for Mental Health has been designed to be delivered within local communities, offering a structured ecotherapy programme that helps participants deepen their relationship with themselves, others and the natural world while supporting positive mental health.

If you're a GP surgery, community organisation, school, workplace or local community group and think your community could benefit from a longer-term nature-based mental health programme, we'd love to hear from you.

Delivered over three therapist-facilitated sessions, the programme provides participants with the opportunity to build confidence, develop supportive relationships and deepen their understanding of the role nature can play in supporting positive mental health.

We work collaboratively with organisations across Gloucestershire to develop ecotherapy programmes that respond to the needs of local communities while remaining person-centred, trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming.

Whether you're interested in offering Nature as a Resource for Mental Health as a new programme or as part of your existing mental health provision, we'd be delighted to discuss how we can work together.

Complete our partnership enquiry form below, and a member of our team will be in touch to discuss your community's needs.
