Hello...my name is Dawn
Dawn Halls, BSC (Hons) MBACP
Neurodivergent Inclusion Lead
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, Health and Wellbeing. I warmly welcome neurodiversity, as I believe not all minds think alike and believe everyone should be able to access the emotional support that best meets their needs.
Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapy at Earth Wisdom
At Earth Wisdom, we recognise neurodiversity as a natural and valuable part of human variation. We work from the understanding that autism, ADHD and other neurodivergent ways of being are not problems to be fixed, but differences to be understood, supported and honoured.
Many people come to us following a recent diagnosis, while others have long suspected they experience the world differently. Some are navigating burnout, masking, identity shifts or relationship challenges. Others are simply looking for a therapeutic space where they do not have to explain or defend the way they think, feel or process.
We offer counselling that is trauma-informed, relational and flexible. Sessions can take place indoors, outdoors, or online - depending on what feels most regulating and accessible.
How We Work
Our approach may include:
-
Exploring identity following a late diagnosis
-
Understanding masking and its impact
-
Working with sensory sensitivity and overwhelm
-
Supporting nervous system regulation
-
Processing grief, relief or anger connected to diagnosis
-
Navigating relationships and communication differences
-
Building self-acceptance and confidence
We aim to create spaces that are calm, predictable and respectful of different communication styles. There is no expectation to maintain eye contact, engage in small talk, or process emotions in a particular way.
Nature & Neurodivergence
Many neurodivergent people find connection in nature deeply regulating. Our ecotherapy approach offers:
-
Outdoor sessions in quiet natural spaces
-
Grounding sensory practices
-
Gentle rhythm and seasonal framing
-
Less intensity than traditional therapy rooms
Nature can provide a parallel way of processing - one that does not rely solely on verbal communication.
Group Spaces
We also offer small group spaces at various points in the year. Some neurodivergent clients find group work supportive when it is carefully facilitated and paced. We prioritise psychological safety, consent, and choice in all shared spaces.
What We Do Not Offer
We do not provide formal diagnostic assessments. If you are seeking an assessment pathway, we are happy to signpost appropriate services.
Getting Started
If you’re unsure where to begin, we welcome an initial conversation. You do not need to arrive with clarity - curiosity is enough.
