We believe in the power of nature to support mental health, emotional wellbeing, and a deeper sense of connection. As human beings, we are inherently linked to the rhythms of the natural world. Ecotherapy - also known as nature-based therapy or outdoor therapy - uses the healing qualities of nature to support mental health, reduce stress, and promote nervous system regulation.
Whether it's sitting under trees, walking familiar paths, or observing the changes of the seasons, ecotherapy offers a grounding and restorative alternative to traditional talk therapy. This approach helps individuals manage anxiety, depression, trauma, and burnout, while reconnecting with their environment in meaningful ways.
This is mental health support that meets you where life is happening: in the cold, in the wind, beneath shifting skies. It offers the opportunity to reconnect - with yourself, with others, and with the living world around you. In doing so, it reminds us that we are not separate from nature, but an essential part of it.
These services go beyond individual support. They help build emotional resilience, foster community, and strengthen a sense of belonging - vital elements of mental health in today’s disconnected world.

One-to-One Counselling - 50mins
We offer confidential, reduced-cost one-to-one counselling for those seeking mental health support in Gloucestershire. Sessions can take place indoors or in nature, depending on your preferences, offering a therapeutic space that feels comfortable, and supportive.
Walk & Talk - 50mins
Our Earth Wisdom Walks offer a gentle, movement-based approach to counselling, combining conversation with the restorative effects of nature. Walking side-by-side in outdoor spaces can make it easier to reflect, process emotions, and feel grounded - supporting both body and mind as part of your mental health journey.
Sharing Circle - 2hrs
Earth Wisdom Circles (such as grief circles) bring people together - indoors or in nature - for therapeutic sharing, emotional reflection, and connection. Through guided discussions and simple practices, we create a safe, nurturing space where participants can feel heard, supported, and part of something bigger - offering meaningful mental health support through community.
Forest Bathing - 2hrs
Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku, our Forest Bathing sessions invite you to slow down, tune into your senses, and simply be. Without any pressure to talk or analyse, these peaceful woodland experiences help reduce stress, soothe the nervous system and foster presence - providing gentle mental health support through connection with nature.
Seasonal Workshop - 3hrs
Our Earth Wisdom Workshops are held in rhythm with the seasons, offering time to pause, reflect, and reconnect. Through creative, nature-based activities and group connection, these workshops support emotional resilience, inner growth, and a sense of shared humanity - nurturing your mental health in a deeply supportive and integrative way.
While our roots are in nature-based therapy, we understand that ecotherapy is not the right fit for everyone. That’s why we offer counselling as a standalone service, with the option to incorporate nature-based elements if and when it feels supportive to you.
If you're open to it, your sessions may include outdoor reflection, grounding practices, or mindfulness in natural spaces. However, if you'd prefer a more traditional indoor setting, that’s absolutely welcome. We meet people where they are, offering an approach that’s flexible, compassionate, and tailored to your preferences.
To register your interest in our services, please email us at info@earthwisdomtherapy.co.uk. Once we hear from you, we’ll arrange an initial assessment session to understand your needs and explore how we can best support your mental health journey
